Man killed in Yuen Long traffic accident

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yuen Long this morning (October 30) in which a 77-year-old man was killed.

About 6.55am, a school bus driven by a 50-year-old man was travelling on Ma Wang Road towards Tuen Mun. Near Wang Lok Street, the bus hit the 77-year-old man who was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital where he was later certified dead at 7.55am.

The school bus driver was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North, are proceeding.
