Appeal for information on fatal accident in Tseung Kwan O

Police today (November 4) appealed for information about a traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O last week in which a 64-year-old man was seriously injured and later died in hospital.

About 4.53am on November 1, a taxi driven by a 60-year-old man was travelling south on Po Hong Road. When turning right into the westbound lane of Tong Ming Street, the vehicle collided with a bicycle that was travelling east on Tong Ming Street.

The 64-year-old male cyclist sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital and then transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was certified dead at 0.08am on the next day (November 2).

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are under way.
