Fatal traffic accident in Sha Tin

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sha Tin this afternoon (November 6) in which a 55-year-old man was killed.

At about 2pm, a light goods vehicle driven by a 19-year-old man was travelling along Shing Mun Tunnel towards Tsuen Wan. When reaching the toll plaza, the vehicle hit two men aged 54 and 55 respectively who were working on the left lane.

Both men were injured and sent to Yan Chai Hospital. The 55-year-old man was later certified dead at 2.43 pm.

The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic of New Territories South are proceeding.
