LGV driver dies in Lantau North traffic accident

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Lantau North this evening (December 8) in which a 25-year-old man died.

About 8.40pm, the man was driving his light goods vehicle (LGV) along North Lantau Highway towards Kowloon. At Siu Ho Wan, the LGV was believed to have hit the kerb on the left. The driver then alighted the LGV and was hit by a following medium goods vehicle and an LGV.

The 25-year-old LGV driver was certified dead at the scene. A 21-year-old male LGV passenger sustained slight injuries to his legs, and was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.
