Fatal traffic accident in Kwai Chung

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Kwai Chung this morning (December 10) in which a 36-year-old man was killed.

About 8.20am, a motorcycle driven by the 36-year-old man was travelling along Kwai Chung Road towards New Territories. Reaching near the footbridge of Lai King MTR Station, it lost control and rammed into a light goods vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man in the front. The motorcyclist fell onto the ground and was run over by the rear wheel of a container truck which was travelling in the same direction.

Sustaining serious injuries, the motorcyclist was certified dead by the ambulancemen at the scene.

The container truck, which left the scene after the accident, and its 42-yar-old driver, were later located by Police in Tsuen Wan area.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic New Territories South are under way.
