Fatal traffic accident in Ta Kwu Ling

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau this afternoon (December 16) in which a 74-year-old man was killed.

About 6pm, a medium goods vehicle driven by a 50-year-old man was travelling along Man Kam To Road towards Man Kam To Border Control Point. When reaching a pedestrian crossing near Sha Leng Tsuen, the vehicle hit the 74-year-old man who was crossing the road.

The male pedestrian sustained serious head injuries and was taken to North District Hospital where he was certified dead at 6.28pm.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are under way.
