Special traffic arrangements for long distance run in Sai Kung

Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate a long distance run to be held in Sai Kung this Sunday (December 21).

The long distance run will take place between 8am and noon in Pak Tam Chung at Sai Kung East Country Park.

The starting point will be at Pak Tam Chung Barrier. Participants will run along Sai Kung Man Yee Road, then the East Dam of High Island Reservoir and return to the finishing point at the head of reservoir where Sai Kung Man Yee Road meets with Sai Kung Sai Wan Road.

The following temporary traffic measures will be implemented:
(1) The section of Sai Kung Man Yee Road and Sai Kung Sai Wan Road within the race course will be closed to all traffic, except authorised vehicles or emergency vehicles; and
(2) The section of Tai Mong Tsai Road between Pak Tam Chung Barrier and Pak Tam Road will be closed from about 7.45am to 8.05am to facilitate the start of the race.

Since there are limited parking spaces, participants are advised to take public transport to the venue. Police will take strict enforcement actions against illegal parking at the scene.
