Fatal Traffic Accident in Wong Tai Sin

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Wong Tai Sin this morning (December 19) in which a 71-year-old woman was killed.

About 7am, a taxi driven by a 51-year-old man was travelling along Shung Wah Street towards Fung Tak Estate. When the taxi right turned to Po Kong Village Road towards Wong Tai Sin, it knocked down a 71-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining head injury, the woman was rushed to Oueen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 10.45am.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway. Anyone who might have witnessed the accident or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2305 7570 or 2305 7500.
