Fatal traffic accident in Yau Tong

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yau Tong this afternoon (December 27) in which a 49-year-old man was killed.

About 1.50pm, a light goods vehicle driven by a 27-year-old man was travelling along Cha Kwo Ling Road eastbound. When reaching 44 Cha Kwo Ling Road, it reportedly hit a 49-year-old male cyclist. The man sustained serious head injuries and was certified dead at scene at 2pm by the ambulanceman.

The vehicle left the scene after the accident and was located with its driver at Sze Shan Street by the Police.

The 27-year-old driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
