Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong

Police today (January 20) appealed for information about a traffic accident in Kwun Tong on January 18 in which an 86-year-old woman was killed.

About 6.30pm on January 18, a private car driven by a 34-year-old man was turning right from Yan Oi Court to Tung Yan Street and reportedly knocked down the 86-year-old woman who was crossing Tung Yan Street.

Sustaining head injuries, the woman was sent to United Christian Hospital in an unconscious state. She was certified dead at 3.01am the next day (January 19).

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East, are under way. Anyone who might have witnessed the accident or who has any information is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2305 7500 or 2305 7582.
