Police reminds public criminal damage a serious offence (with photo)

Police today (January 20) reminds the public criminal damage is a serious offence after the arrest of three man yesterday (January 19) in connection with a series of criminal damage cases.¡@¡@

Police had received about 20 reports on criminal damage cases in the MTR stations, Mong Kok, and Yuen Long since November last year. Investigations reveal that walls, glass doors and windows of the train compartment were being scrawled and scratched by hard objects. Damages made in the MTR stations incurred an approximate cost of $150,000.

Officers of Regional Crime Unit, Kowloon East, identified and arrested the three men, aged 23 to 26, in three residences in Yuen Long respectively in the morning of January 19, after further investigations.

The arrested men are now released on police bail.

Police reminds the public that criminal damage is a serious offence and liable to a maximum penalty of 10-year-imprisonment.
