Man arrested for murder

Police yesterday (January 30) arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with a case in which a 22-year-old woman was found missing and a female body was located in Lok Ma Chau early this morning (January 31).

A report was made to the Police last Thursday (January 22) that the 22-year-old woman left her workplace on Yee Wo Street in Causeway Bay the day before (January 21) and then went missing.

Officers of District Crime Squad of Sha Tin took over the case for further investigations and subsequently arrested the 37-year-old man in Ma On Shan yesterday.

Initial investigations revealed that the 37-year-old man was suspected to have killed the woman after a dispute and disposed her body at Ngau Tam Mei in Lok Ma Chau.

After extensive enquiries, Police conducted a search early this morning at Ngau Tam Mei and located a female body suspected to be the missing woman in a catchment at the hillside.

A post-mortem will be conducted on Monday (February 2) on the deceased to ascertain the cause of her death.

The 37-year-old man was arrested for murder and is still being detained for further enquiries. Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Sha Tin are underway.
