Police seize suspected "Ice" at the Airport (with photo)

Police today (February 20) arrested a 56-year-old man and seized about two kilograms of suspected "Ice" (Methamphetamine) worth about $1.34 million at the Hong Kong International Airport.

Acting on information and after indepth investigation, officers of the Narcotics Bureau intercepted the man, who had joined a tour to Japan, at the departure hall of the Airport this morning. Eight packs of suspected "Ice" with a total weight of two kilograms were found concealed inside the specially stitched pockets of two pieces of garments found inside his luggage.

The estimated market value of the seized drugs is HK$6 million if sold in Japan.

The man is charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs and will appear at Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (February 21).
