Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping

Police today (March 21) appealed for information about a traffic accident on Monday (March 16) in Sau Mau Ping in which a 63-year-old woman was injured and later died in hospital.

About 8.15am, the 63-year-old woman was crossing the road on Hip Wo Street, outside Hipway Tower. She was reportedly hit by a light goods vehicle which was right turning into Hip Wo Street from the vehicular exit of Hipway Tower.

The woman sustained head injuries and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 8.40am yesterday (March 19).

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway. Anyone who saw the accident or who has information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers on 2305 7500.
