Fatal traffic accident in Central

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Central this morning (April 6) in which a 72-year-old woman was killed.

At about 8am, a public light bus driven by a 43-year-old man was turning right to the Cotton Tree Drive flyover from Harcourt Road, where it hit the 72-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was taken to Queen Mary Hospital where she was later certified dead at 12.25pm.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are under way.
