Wounding case in Chai Wan reclassified as murder

Police today (May 15) reclassified a wounding case in Chai Wan on Tuesday (May 12) as murder.

About 3.30pm on Tuesday, a report was made to the Police that a woman was found collapsed inside a flat at Tsui Ning House in Tsui Wan Estate.

Police sped to the scene and located the 59-year-old woman who was lying unconscious on the bedroom floor. She was rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for medical treatment where she was subsequently certified dead at 3.18am today.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted next Monday (May 18) to ascertain the cause of the woman's death.

Police arrested her 38-year-old son at the scene and he was subsequently holding charged with one count of wounding and appeared at the Eastern Magistrates' Courts yesterday (May 14). The man will re-appear at the same court on May 27.

Investigations by District Crime Squad of Eastern District are underway.
