Man charged with murder and wounding

Police today (May 30) charged a 39-year-old man with murder and wounding.

He was arrested yesterday (May 29) evening in Sham Shui Po where he was suspected to have attacked a boy with a chopper in an open space outside Tung Chau Street Temporary Market. The 3-year-old boy died and his 61-year-old father was seriously injured.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted on Monday (June 1) to ascertain the cause of the boy's death.

The 39-year-old man will appear at Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts on Monday¡@morning.

Police urged anyone who has any information about the case to contact the investigating officers of District Crime Squad, Sham Shui Po at 2360 7213.
