Woman dies in Tsing Yi traffic accident

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tsing Yi this morning (June 24) in which an 87-year-old woman was killed.

About 6.10am, a taxi driven by a 51-year-old man was travelling along southbound Fung Shue Wo Road. When reaching near Tsing Yip Street, the taxi reportedly hit the 87-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital where she was certified dead at 6:35am.

Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is investigating the accident.
