Man dies in Hung Hom traffic accident

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Hung Hom this morning (June 25) in which a 54-year-old man was killed.

About 11.30am, a rubbish truck driven by a 34-year-old man was travelling along eastbound Kwei Chow Street. When reaching 55 Kwei Chow Street, the truck reportedly hit the 54-year-old man on a wheelchair who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious injuries, the man was certified dead at scene by ambulanceman at 11:40am.

The 34-year-old rubbish truck driver was arrested for "dangerous driving causing death" and being detained for enquiry.

Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is investigating the accident.
