Man dies in Kowloon City traffic accident

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Kowloon City early this (July 6) morning in which a 32-year-old man was killed.

About 1.20am, a taxi driven by a 35-year-old man was travelling along Argyle Street towards Mong Kok. Near Soares Street, the driver lost control of the car, rammed the central divider and subsequently stopped on the opposite carriageway.

Three male passengers aged 31, 32 and 49 were taken to Kwong Wah Hospital where the 32-year-old man was certified dead at 2.22am.

The taxi driver has been arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic Kowloon West, are under way.
