Man arrested over missing family

Police yesterday (July 6) arrested a 42-year-old Mainlander in connection with the suspected murder of a family of four in Ping Che Tsuen, Tai Kwu Ling.

The case came to light when police received a report from a woman yesterday (July 6) that a colleague had failed to show up at work and she asked for police assistance in locating him.

When police arrived at a village house in Ping Che Tsuen,
where the missing man and his wife and two daughters live, there was no one there, but bloodstains were found in the corner of the house.

After further investigation yesterday, police arrested a 42-year-old man lived in the same village.

Police suspected the family has been murdered and their bodies buried in a trench at the courtyard outside the victims' village house. The search for the family members is continuing.

Regional Crime Unit, New Territories North is detaining the 42-year-old suspect for further investigation.
