Fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sham Shui Po this morning (July 11) in which a 82-year-old woman died.

About 9.40am, a light goods vehicle driven by a 31-year-old man was traveling along Kweilin Street northeastbound. When right turning onto Yee Kuk Street, the vehicle knocked down the 82-year old woman who was crossing the road.

The woman who sustained serious injuries was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital, where she was later certified dead at 2.30pm. .

The 31-year-old male driver was arrested for "Dangerous Driving Causing Death" and released on bail for further investigation.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are under way.
