Fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 21-year-old man was killed in Tsuen Wan last night (July 15).

Around 8pm last night, a private car driven by the 21-year-old man was travelling along Shek Wai Kok Road towards Wai Tsuen Road. When reaching close to Cheung Pei Shan Road, it reportedly lost control and collided with a public light bus travelling on the opposite lane.

Sustaining head injuries, the private car driver was sent to Yan Chai Hospital where he was certified dead at 11.39pm.

The other eleven injured persons, including the 65-year-old male public light bus driver, an 18-year-old male private car passenger, and nine public light bus passengers, aged between 27 and 63, were sent to Yan Chai Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital for medical treatments.

Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are under way. Anyone who might have seen the accident or who may have any information is urged to contact the investigation officers on 3661 1300.
