Fatal traffic accident in Tuen Mun

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tuen Mun yesterday (July 19) in which a 57-year-old woman was killed.

About 5.30pm yesterday, a taxi driven by a 63-year-old man was travelling along northbound Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road. When reaching near the junction with Tuen Hing Road, the taxi reportedly knocked down the 57-year-old woman who was pushing a handcart on the roadside.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where she was certified dead at 10.28pm.

Investigations will be taken over by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic New Territories North.
