Fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei this afternoon (July 25) in which an 84-year-old woman was killed.

About 2pm, a heavy goods vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man was travelling along Jordan Road eastbound. When passing the junction with Shanghai Street, it reportedly hit the woman who was crossing the road.

The woman trapped under the vehicle was rescued. She was certified dead at the scene by ambulancemen.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are under way.
