Police appeal for witnesses to Yuen Long traffic accident

Police are appealing for witnesses to a traffic accident in Yuen Long yesterday (August 13) in which an 8-year-old boy was hit by a car.

The boy had been in a taxi travelling along Tai Shu Ha Road West towards Yau Cha Po, about 7.45pm. As the boy got out of the taxi at Tin Hau Temple, he was hit by a car travelling on the opposite carriageway of Tai Shu Ha West Road.

The injured boy was seriously injured and sent to Tuen Mun Hospital.

Investigations were taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North.

Police are anxious to contact the taxi driver or anyone who witnessed the accident. Anyone who has information to offer is urged to contact investigating officers at 3661 3858 or 3661 3800.
