Fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Kwun Tong tonight (August 27) in which a 58-year-old man was killed.

About 9 pm, a private car driven by a 35-year-old man was travelling along Lei Yue Mun Road eastbound on 2nd lane, when reaching the junction of Ko Chiu Road, it reportedly lost control and hit two men who were standing at the pedestrian crossing.

A man aged 58 sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 9.20 pm. Another man aged 71 sustained injuries was rushed to the United Christian Hospital.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
