Child Protection Policy Unit (CPPU) was formally established in October 1997. When it was first established, CPPU was mainly responsible for formulating policy and other matters pertaining to child abuse and domestic violence. Since then, it has been expanded to cover policy matters in relation to sexual violence, elder abuse, juvenile crime and child pornography.
