Crime Matters

The Hong Kong Police Force is dedicated to combating trafficking in persons and has been adopting multi-agency approach to work with other stakeholders including local Consulates, Security Bureau, Immigration Department, Social Welfare Department and Labour Department etc, in the fight against trafficking in persons through prevention, enforcement, prosecution and victims support.

In March 2018, the HKSAR Government issued the “Action Plan to Tackle Trafficking in Persons and to Enhance Protection of Foreign Domestic Helpers in Hong Kong”, which underlines the Government’s overall strategy and measures for tackling trafficking in persons and enhancing protection of foreign domestic helpers. The Hong Kong Police Force shall enhance relevant strategies and measures in accordance with the “Action Plan” in order to maintain Hong Kong as one of the safest and most stable cities in the world.

The Hong Kong Police Force attaches great importance to trafficking in persons cases and will not tolerate any form of trafficking in persons. Anyone with information or intelligence on trafficking in persons is encouraged to report to the Police.
