Hang Seng Bank – Help the Police Fight Youth Crime Competition
The “Help the Police Fight Youth Crime Competition” was launched in 1975. Held every two years, it aims at encouraging young people to show concern to and assist the Police in fighting youth crime, and hence building a healthy lifestyle. Besides receiving staunch support from the Fight Crime Committee and various sectors of the community, the competition has also received sponsorship from many industrial and commercial organisations. The competition has been sponsored from Hang Seng Bank since 1994.
Participants of the “Help the Police Fight Youth Crime Competition” are divided into Primary Section, Junior Secondary Section, Senior Secondary Section, Tertiary Section and Non-governmental organisation Section. Participants need to go through a series of tests in the competition, such as online games, fight crime word games, anti-drug newspaper clippings, essay competitions and leadership skills tests etc. Participants with outstanding performance in each category will receive abundant prizes, including scholarships, book coupons, souvenir medals etc, as an encouragement. In addition, winners in the Secondary, Tertiary and Non-governmental organisation Sections will pay visits overseas as “Fight Crime Ambassadors”, and make exchanges with local law enforcement agencies and youth organisations.
“Help the Police Fight Youth Crime Competition 2010” prize presentation ceremony was attracted many youngsters participating. Twenty one winners were selected from the participants. Besides winning will be awarded abundant prizes and have opportunity to represent Hong Kong as a “Fight Crime Ambassador” of Hong Kong SAR to carry out the mission of exchanging fight crime experiences with the foreign department, people and students, and promoting the mutual understanding between Hong Kong and the local police and young people.
