Fatal traffic accident : Shek Kip Mei

Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in which a 26-year-old man was killed in Shek Kip Mei this morning (January 20).

Enquiries revealed that shortly before 10 am, a private car driven by a 26-year-old man was travelling along northbound Tai Po Road, Shek Kip Mei, heading for Sha Tin.

After passing Kam Shan Country Park, the driver reportedly lost control of his car which swerved to the southbound lane and had a head-on collision with another private car travelling towards the south.

After the impact, the 26-year-old driver was trapped inside the compartment and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining injuiries to his head, he was rushed to Caritas Medical Centre where he was certified dead at 10.20 am.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic Kowloon West are proceeding.
