2004-01-28 14:12 Police appeal to members of the public for information on a baby boy who was found abandoned in Yuen Long this (January 28) morning. Initial enquiries revealed that at about 5.45 am, a 23-year-old woman discovered the baby boy inside one of the cublicles in the female public toilet on Fung Cheung Road, Yuen Long. A report was then made to Police. Weighing about 2.24 kilograms and measuring 47 centimetres in length, the baby is about five to seven days old and still has an umbilical cord attached. When found, he was wearing a white vest and striped blue clothes, and wrapped by a white blanket with blue patterns. He is still under observation in Tuen Mun Hospital.Initial medical examinations revealed that he is healthy. Investigations by the Divisional Investigation Team of Yuen Long are proceeding. Police urged the next-of-kin or relatives of the baby boy, or anyone who has information to offer to contact the investigating officers on 2473 8253. |
