Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident : Aberdeen

Police today (February 8) appealed to members of the public for information on
a traffic accident occurred in Aberdeen on December 24, 2005 in which a
34-year-old woman was injured and subsequently died on January 31 this year.

Shortly after 4.45 pm on December 24 last year, the 34-year-old woman was
starting off a private car which was parked on Shek Pai Wan Road with its front
part heading the direction of the sea embankment at the Aberdeen Wholesale Fish Market. After moving for a short distance, it reportedly dashed forward and
plunged into the sea.

Six passengers aged between six and 28 on board the private car were
immediately rescued while the driver was trapped inside the car under the sea.
She was later rescued by the firemen and rushed to the Queen Mary Hospital
where she was certified dead at about 11.50 pm on January 31 this year.

Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic Hong Kong Island are
proceeding.
