A 37-year-old man wanted for blackmail was handed over from the Public
Security Bureau (PSB) of Mainland China to Hong Kong Police (HKP) yesterday
(July 18).

The man was involved in blackmailing his former 27-year-old girlfriend in
March and April in 2007 by threatening to upload their videos with intimate
acts on the internet if she did not make up with him. The man fled to Mainland
China afterwards.

Officers of Regional Crime Unit Kowloon West took up the case for
investigation and the Mainland's PSB was requested to assist in locating the
man.

The man was located by Zhuhai PSB on June 28 this year and was returned to
HKP at Huanggang Border Control Point yesterday.

The man has been charged with one count of blackmail and will appear in
Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts today (July 19).
