2005-11-09 22:04 Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yuen Long in which a 46-year-old man was killed and four other men were injured this afternoon (November 9). At about 5.40 pm, two medium goods vehicles (MGV) with trailers (V1 and V2) driven by a 41-year-old man and a 39-year-old man respectively, a medium goods vehicle (V3) driven by a 36-year-old man and a light goods vehicle (V4) driven by the 46-year-old man was travelling in sequence along San Tin Highway towards Sheung Shui. When reaching near Fairview Park, V1 to V4 slowed down for prevailing traffic. A MGV with trailer (V5) driven by a 44-year-old man travelling from behind reportedly rammed into the rear of V4 resulting in the latter trapped under V3. Sustaining serious injuries, the 46-year-old driver of V4 was certified dead by ambulancemen at scene. The drivers of V3 and V5, two male passengers of V3 aged 42 and 54, sustained injuries and were sent to North District Hospital for treatment. Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
