2006-11-21 20:11 Three men aged between 39 and 58 were subsequently arrested for possession of ammunition without a licence after 100 bullets were found inside a private car in Tin Shui Wai last (November 20) night Initial enquiries revealed that at about 9.50 pm yesterday, Police Uniformed Branch Officers from Tin Shui Wai Division during a road block intercepted a private car with a 39-year-old man onboard the car outside Galore Garden on Tin Ha Road, Tin Shui Wai. A search conducted in the car discovered that there were a bag containing five magzines with four loaded with bullets and a box of 100 bullets inside the boot of the car. The 39-year-old man was arrested at scene accordingly for possession of ammunition without a licence. Further investigation by Officers of Regional Crime Unit from New Territories North today (November 21) led to the arrest of the owner of the car, a 58-year-old man in an industrial building in Kwai Chung and a 53-year-old man in his residence in Tuen Mun respectively in connection with the case for possession of ammunication without a licence. Initial investigation indicated that the ammunition seized belonged to the 53-year-old man who was a former member of a gun club. Inspection by Forensic Firearms Examination Bureau of the ammunition seized is underway. Investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North are proceeding. |
