Man jailed for drug trafficking and possession of forged coins : Chai Wan

A 46-year-old man was sentenced to two years and eight months’ imprisonment
for drug-related offences and possession of over 1 300 counterfeit HK$10 coins
at the District Court today (August 27).

The court heard that the man was arrested by the officers from the Customs &
Excise Department in Yue Wan Estate, Chai Wan on January 29 this year.

A subsequent search at the man’s residence led to the seizure of about 76
grams of ketamine, five grams of "ice", various items of Part I Poison as well
as 1 317 counterfeit HK$10 coins.

The counterfeit coins were then handed over to Police Commercial Crime Bureau
for further enquiries.

Following a joint investigation, the man was charged with trafficking in and
possession of dangerous drugs, possession of Part I Poison and custody or
control of counterfeit coins.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced today.
