At about 2 pm yesterday (July 23) a policeman on patrol found smoke billowing from an unnamed alley behind the public bathhouse at the junction of Western Street and Second Street, Western. After the fire was put out, a charred body and strong smell of thinner were found at the scene. Initial enquiries by the Police revealed that shortly before the incident, a woman aged about 40 bought a can of thinner from a metal shop on First Street. A lighter and an empty thinner can were located beside the body. A pathologist found no external wound on the body. Investigation by the Divisional Investigation Team of Western is proceeding. |
