Trafficking in dangerous drugs : 125 Tung Choi Street, Mong Kok

After extensive investigation into information gathered, the Regional Special Duty Squad of Kowloon West mounted an operation at about 8 pm last (July 16) night in Mong Kok. At about 1.45 am this (July 17) morning, a 16-year-old boy was intercepted when he was leaving a residential flat at 125 Tung Choi Street, Mong Kok. Two thousand tablets of suspected Ecstacy were found in the bag that the boy was carrying. Upon a search in the residential flat, 1,000 tablets of suspected Ecstacy, 700 tablets of suspected Give me five and 300 grams of suspected cannabis along with some packaging materials were seized. The seizure could fetch $400,000 if sold in the retail market. It was believed that the above location was a packaging and distributing centre of psychotropic drugs for discos and entertainment premises in the West Kowloon Region. The 16-year-old boy was arrested for trafficking in dangerous drugs. He will be charged and appear in the North Kowloon Magistracies’ Courts later today.
