Man arrested for possession of offensive weapons : Yuen Long

Police this (December 4) afternoon arrested a 36-year-old man for possession of offensive weapons in Yuen Long.

Acting on information, officer of the Crime Headquarters, New Territories North Region raided a one-storey stone hut in Tai Kei Leng Village, Yuen Long, at about 1 pm.

In the hut, the police officers seized 15 0.6-metre-long machetes, two pieces of iron plates for making machetes and some tools for metalwork.

It was believed a metal workshop for manufacturing machetes had been smashed.

The 36-year-old man was arrested for possession of offensive weapons in the hut.

He is being detained for enquiries.

The 36-year-old man was charged with possession of offensive weapons and he will appear in the Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (December 5).
