Mong Kok District (MKDIST) has collaborated with the Mong Kok Kai Fong Association in holding "Mong Kok Community Top Chef Competition 2014" on August 30. The contest served as a platform for contestants with different ethnic backgrounds to get together and share their culinary experiences and cultures.

The judging panel comprised MKDIST Commander Chung Sze-pong, Chairman of the Yau Tsim Mong (YTM) District Council, Mr Chung Kong-mo, Executive Committee Chairman of the Mong Kok Kai Fong Association, Mr Leung Wah-sing, Mong Kok Junior Police Call (JPC) Honorary President, Mr Cheung Ka-ho, and Chairlady of the YTM District School Liaison Committee, Ms Cheung Yee-may.

A total of 18 teams took part in the contest, which was divided into Elderly, Youth and Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) groups. They were assigned with three cuisine themes: vegetarian dish, JPC 40th anniversary birthday dish and curry dish. Amid loud applause and a lot of fun, the Mong Kok Kai Fong Association, MK JPC and the HKMA David Li Kwok Po College clinched the titles of the Elderly Group, Youth Group and NEC Group respectively. The Indian members of the HKMA David Li Kwok Po College also captured the "Best of the Champions" title.
