Auxiliary Support Bureau held a Police Sports Club Fair at Auxiliary Police Headquarters on August 19 in a bid to encourage the 160 Recruit Police Constables (Auxiliary) undergoing a Special Basic Training Course to adopt a healthy lifestyle and join the Force's various sports clubs.

Altogether 14 Force sports clubs as well as the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Club set up stalls at the fair and provided information on many sports. Club members manning the stalls treated the recruits to impromptu demonstrations and invited them to try out some sports, with the shooting club, dragon boat team and rugby club appearing to be more popular with the recruits.  Many of them signed up to join more than one club, thus providing new blood for many sports clubs.
