I joined the Force after graduating from university and have been in service for almost two years.  I used to be a quiet girl with little sports activities.

My admission to Police College was definitely a milestone of my life, where I got various kinds of fitness training. In particular, I completed the 2.4km run many times and I was able to enjoy the joy and fun of running and fitness training.

After passing out from the College, I joined the 12.5km Dowman Road Race for fun for the first time. At the beginning, I found practice very tough until I met some of my colleagues from the Police Athletics Club (PAC).  They gave me a lot of advice on training, besides encouragement and support. Thanks to the help of PAC, I got many opportunities to take part in different distance runs.  Subsequently, my performances greatly improved.

I used to think running is a lone sport, but now I find it is not. Though practice is strenuous, my colleagues and I support one another. Running is a team sport too. I like relay because it requires teamwork.  I developed friendship with my colleagues in relay races. I also participated in a charity mountain run early this year, in which four women runners carried 4.5 liters of water and completed a 15km mountain route.  Despite the challenges of the race, I completed the race and won the title with mutual support and encouragement.

I also used to think sports career would come to an end when I reach 20 something.  However many of my colleagues older than me keep on making improvement in their performances. They are a source of motivation for me and I have no excuse to stop.  Now, running has become a lifelong passion for me and I am lucky to have met teammates who share the same passion.

Running has also changed my outlook of life.  I will try to get a breakthrough in running, and this spirit also applies to my career.  After a day of busy work, the best refreshment is jogging rather than staying at home. Running not only helps me strike a balance between work and health, but also makes me more energetic.
