Central District (CDIST) has been engaging foreign domestic helpers with a view to disseminating anti-crime messages and protecting them from falling preys to crimes.  For education and publicity, it has conducted seminars and distributed anti-gambling and anti-crime leaflets, as well as liaised with domestic helper associations.
 
In its June issue, the Filipino community paper, "HK Life”, reported on CDIST's community engagement efforts by covering the arrest of four foreign domestic helpers for street gambling in Central in May. The paper also called on its readers not to participate in illegal gambling activities and provided information on the relevant laws and penalties.
 
CDIST will forge a closer partnership with the foreign domestic helper community in preventing and combating crimes.
