To mark the temporary closure of the Police Officers' Club (POC) in August for construction of the Shatin to Central Link, a POC Closure Dinner cum Lights-off Ceremony was held on July 31.

The guests officiating at the ceremony were Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chau Kwok-leung, Director of Personnel and Training Au Chi-kwong and the Honorary President of Police Band, Mr Richard Tang Yat-sun. More than 120 guests were present to bid farewell to POC.

Sales of a limited number of wines with POC Logo, procured for commemoration of POC, started from June. To discharge the social responsibility of the Force, all the net profit derived from the sales up to the closing time will be donated to the victims of the Nepal earthquake. By July 31, the net profit amounted to $50,800.

On August 28, Chief Superintendent (Personnel Services & Staff Relations) Ng Suk-fun, on behalf of the Force, presented a cheque to Ms Winnie Wong, Head of Communications and Resource Development of Hong Kong Red Cross, at Hong Kong Red Cross Headquarters.
