To critically evaluate the effectiveness of the Noble Bar Scheme (NBS), Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) has conducted face-to-face interviews with, and issued questionnaires to, local residents and bar operators. Initial results from 230 respondents show that the NBS has significantly improved noise pollution and other nuisance problems in the targeted area.

When the six-month pilot scheme drew to a close, WCHDIST held the second round of workshop for about 20 residents on August 29, to further collect residents' views for charting the NBS' way forward, giving them a better understanding of the NBS and reviewing the NBS work in the past six months.

In the workshop, Wan Chai Division Task Force Sub-unit 2 Commander Man Chi-fai gave a briefing on the activities and effectiveness of the NBS, and the natures and statistics of local community issues. NBS Liaison Officer Tsang Chi-wai presented information on late night lawlessness and crime prevention. Finally, Wan Chai Licensing Office Sub-unit Commander Chan Sau-yuk covered liquor licence-related matters.

During a sharing session, the participants were forthcoming in expressing their views of the NBS. They appreciated WCHDIST's dedication to improving community environment and looked forward to more similar workshops in the near future.
