As part of its ongoing efforts to promote community engagement, Tuen Mun District (TMDIST) has invited teams from various sectors, including the Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) Community, to join a seven-a-side football match.


Taking part in the match on August 22 were teams from Tuen Mun District Fight Crime Committee (TM DFCC) and CCC Hoh Fuk Tong College as well as teams formed by NEC members of TMDIST Junior Police Call, TMDIST police volunteers, India Blue Dragons Football Club and Pakistan Daredevils Football Club.


Mr Chan Pui-kin, a DFCC member, Mr Mohammad Sajid, a leader of the Islamic community in Tuen Mun, and Mr Khan Jahan Zeeb, Chairman of the Hong Kong Youth Development Association, were on hand to support the event in promoting racial integration and bridging the gap between local youths and their NEC counterparts.


Through the football match, youngsters had their self-confidence, sense of discipline and esprit de corps enhanced, besides beefing up their physical fitness. Interaction with police volunteers also helped them develop positive values.


Thanking the players for participating in the match at a prize presentation ceremony, Divisional Commander of Castle Peak Division Tai Hung-Kin stressed that TMDIST would continue to engage the community in preventing and fighting crime.
