Support Wing arranged for social workers from the "Silence" to conduct experience-sharing workshops for frontline officers between October and this month. The "Silence" is a registered charity providing services to people with hearing impairment and their families.

More than 20 workshops were conducted during the training days of Tai Po District and Yuen Long District, where more hearing impaired people have made their homes.

At the workshops, over 1 000 officers discussed communication with hearing-impaired persons and the basic sign language applicable to police work. For the officers, the workshops helped them understand better the needs of hearing-impaired persons.
