More than 2 100 runners participated in Dowman Road Race 2016 on February 13, including 90 from other disciplined forces. Commissioner Lo Wai-chung joined a large crowd of supporters in cheering on the runners at the finish line and later presented trophies to the winners.


The title of Men's Open went to Sergeant (SGT) Lai Hok-yan from Police College again, while Police Constable (Auxiliary) Kong Lai-ming from Mong Kok District captured the championship of Women's Open.


Police Tactical Unit (PTU) Headquarters won the Specialist Team Relay once again. Kwai Tsing District and Police College won the Formation Relay and Ladies Relay respectively.


The winners of the Fastest Directorate Officer Cup and the Most Senior Age Disciplined Officer (SP rank or above) Completing the Course are Wan Chai District Commander Mak Chin-ho and Superintendent Yip Yuk-ping from Commercial Crime Bureau respectively.


To commemorate the late SGT Chow Chi-keung for his contribution to the Force, the Police Athletics Club introduced the "Chow Chi-keung Memorial Cup" for runners of age 52 and above or ex-cadets (of any age) of the former Police Cadet School. The cup went to SGT Chan Wai-kay from Police Headquarters.


Police Athletics Club Chairman, Mr Kwok Ho-fai, thanked the helpers from Police Football Referee Club and Police Handicraft Club, Physical Training Instructors from Police College and PTU, Auxiliary Medical Service, Hong Kong Adventure Corps and other helpers for their support and assistance for the event.
