Commandant of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) Yang Joe-tsi took the salute at a passing-out parade of 171 members of the Police Tactical Unit (PTU) "Golf" Company on August 5.

Officiating at the passing-out parade of the PTU for the first time, Mr Yang commended the PTU for playing a key role in maintaining social order and stability in Hong Kong. He highlighted the spirit of the "Golf" Company – "Believe our strength, we are one" and urged the regular and auxiliary officers to be united in facing challenges. He also stressed the importance of supporting and encouraging each other in times of difficulties.

Mr Yang said, "During daily policing, the regular and auxiliary officers have been working seamlessly with the same vision to maintain law and order in Hong Kong. Auxiliary members, other than performing beat patrol duties, also participated in policing major public events and crowd management operations to support their regular counterparts. This fully demonstrates that the Hong Kong Police Force and HKAPF are united in safeguarding Hong Kong."

Mr Yang encouraged all passing-out members to continue serving the community wholeheartedly so as to maintain Hong Kong as one of the safest and most stable cities in the world. He was pleased to witness that four passing-out inspectors are ex-auxiliary members, of which Inspector Wan Kam-fung and his platoon were awarded the Roy Henry Memorial Trophy.
